***FILLED*** Pediatric Neurogastroenterology
We’re seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Neurogastroenterologist for an exciting opportunity to develop a Pediatric Neurogastroenterology and Motility program at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a comprehensive pediatric digestive care program within Ochsner’s Health’s regional health system, the largest not-for-profit academic health system in the Gulf South.
The Section of Pediatric GI, Hepatology & Nutrition, currently 10 physicians and 1 NP, offers pediatric advanced endoscopy and ERCP, pancreatology, hepatology and liver transplantation, intestinal rehabilitation, and comprehensive programs in aerodigestive disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric feeding & swallowing disorders, and colorectal malformations.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Leadership and Program Development
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and lead a regional Pediatric Neurogastroenterology and Motility program.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care for children with pediatric digestive disorders, focusing on those with dysmotility and disturbances of gut-brain interaction.
- Perform gastrointestinal endoscopy and motility procedures.
- Partner with medical and surgical colleagues to serve children with complex conditions in multidisciplinary programs.
Teaching and Research
- Teach medical students, residents, and allied health students.
- Clinical and translational research opportunities abound for qualified candidates.
- Academic appointment commensurate with experience.
The Department of Pediatrics and its pediatric subspecialists (collectively, Ochsner for Children™) represent over 110 physicians.
