Glenda Church Smith, Principal
Glenda has an award-winning track record and over 28 years’ experience as an executive search consultant—17 of which she spent creating and developing search firms and hiring and training individuals who went on to become top-ranked recruiters under her direction.
She served as the first-ever Director of Physician Recruitment for Egleston Children’s Hospital at Emory University in Atlanta (now Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta), part of a $225 million healthcare system that included a 235-bed, not-for-profit children’s teaching hospital and 22 satellite clinics. Glenda developed that critical department from the ground up. Under her leadership, the hospital hired 1 physician for every 1.7 interviews in urgent and primary care, resulting in a huge cost savings and an increase in overall quality for the organization. What’s more, she successfully filled 35 urgent physician openings within the first 13 months in her role.
Glenda has spent her entire career studying negotiation and the psychology of the recruitment process, as well as personality/behavioral assessments. Her key strengths include facilitating the recruitment process, negotiating to ensure a win-win outcome, and finding the best fit for both her clients and candidates.
In her career, Glenda has personally made and overseen thousands of successful placements. Since founding Pediatric Search Partners, she has successfully signed over 350 physicians and leaders within children’s hospitals, healthcare systems and practices across the nation including Medical Directors, Section Chiefs, Division Heads, Pediatric Residency Program Directors, Vice President and Medical Director of Clinical Integration, Vice President and Medical Director of Community Health and Chair of Pediatrics.
Most importantly, her heart’s passion is making a difference in the lives of those who take care of kids and helping hospitals and practices find the doctors and leaders they need to impact the lives of children and families in the areas they serve.
