We are seeking physicians who are Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine to join Ochsner Hospital for Children’s expanding section in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans, inclusive of Ochsner Baptist Hospital and Ochsner Medical Center -West Bank Campus, is the highest rated maternity hospital in Louisiana and the only hospital in the state to get a “high performing” rating, according to U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals for Maternity 2022-23.

Recent graduates and experienced neonatologists with training or experience in level IV NICU are invited to join the division working alongside a team of board-certified neonatologists and experienced neonatal nurse practitioners. The positions offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience with full benefits, paid relocation, and signing bonus.

Ochsner Health has the only hospital in Louisiana that provides Level IV neonatal and obstetric care within the same facility—Ochsner Baptist Hospital. This state-of-the-art 54-bed Level IV NICU was constructed in 2015 and serves as the hub for a system of five Ochsner NICUs throughout the New Orleans area. As annual deliveries increase to almost 4,000 per year, Ochsner’s extensive network of maternal-fetal medicine physicians provides best-in-class care for high-risk patients.

As a Level IV NICU, Ochsner Baptist Hospital:

  • Provides fetal echo services
  • Coordinates the care of babies with complex congenital heart diseases
  • Offers all modes of respiratory support, including HFJV, HFOV, and inhaled nitric oxide
  • Is supported by one of the longest standing ECMO programs in the country
  • Offers total body cooling for qualified infants

The Ochsner network serves the Gulf South region with an established ground and air neonatal transport system. Its NICU participates in the Vermont Oxford Network, with continuous performance improvement initiatives underway. A full spectrum of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty support is always available.
