We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist to join the collegial team at Atrium Health Levine Children’s, working at Jeff Gordon Children’s Center on the campus of Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, North Carolina. Jeff Gordon Children’s Center is conveniently located just 27 miles northeast of Atrium Health Levine Children’s main campus in Charlotte and only 17 miles from the satellite practice in Huntersville, near Lake Norman. Consistently ranked among the Best Children’s Hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and in 8 subspecialties in 2023-24, Atrium Health Levine Children’s is the most comprehensive children’s hospital between Atlanta and Washington, D.C., helping families stay closer to home.
This exceptional opportunity is joining a primarily outpatient practice (75%) with inpatient consults (25%) and satellite office coverage 1-2 days per week. Periodic inpatient coverage at Levine Children’s Hospital is available for candidates who prefer the acute care setting. There are also opportunities for teaching through the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program. Call coverage at Jeff Gordon Children’s Center is shared with Dr. Kecha LynShue, who joined in 2008, and Nichole Towns, nurse practitioner.
The practice is part of a collaborative multispecialty group, including pediatric subspecialists in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Neurology, Pulmonology, Surgery and Urology, dedicated to improving care for children living with chronic medical conditions. Ancillary services include a diabetes educator, registered dietitian, licensed clinical social worker, certified child life specialist, and an experienced nursing team with more than 15 years of pediatric endocrinology experience. Additionally, the Diabetes Center at Atrium Health Cabarrus provides inpatient and outpatient consultation services.

Additionally, Atrium Health and Wake Forest Baptist Health, including Wake Forest School of Medicine, officially joined together as a single enterprise, Atrium Health. Wake Forest Baptist Health and Wake Forest School of Medicine will become the academic core of Atrium Health, building a second campus of the school of medicine in Charlotte. The growth of the school of medicine will expand existing academic research capabilities in a way that will increase opportunities for clinical trials across a large, diverse market with some of the nation’s leading medical experts.
