Description

We’re seeking a Division Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology to lead the well-established practice in the Division of Otolaryngology at Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville - a leading provider of comprehensive, family-centered care in more than 30 pediatric specialties with four clinic locations in this growing area. The group consists of four pediatric otolaryngologists and four Advanced Practice Practitioners with two additional physicians in recruitment.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, board certified pediatric otolaryngologist with a passion for patient and family-centered care. You’ll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other subspecialists clinically in a private practice style with academic opportunities. Current expansion in education, research, and program development offers potential for interested candidates. Nemours provides the opportunity to work with their clinical trials team with data and trials that span all four major sites in Delaware and Florida within the integrated Nemours organization. Physicians are encouraged to apply for an academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in Jacksonville. Resident rotations provide teaching opportunities for the faculty.

About Jacksonville

With 22 miles of white-sand beaches, the largest urban park system in the country, encompassing seven state and two national parks, a national preserve, and 400 city parks, and an average of 270 days of sunshine each year to enjoy them, it’s easy to see why Jacksonville is attracting newcomers from in-state and across the country.

Ranked #16 in Best Places to Live by U.S. News & World Report and #29 on their Best Places to Retire list in 2023-24, this growing city is located on the St. Johns River in the northeast corner of Florida with bridges uniting residents in the downtown area with the Atlantic coast beaches nearby. The largest metro area by land mass in the continental U.S., Jacksonville offers A+ rated schools, a crime rate below the national average and a low cost of living (median home price is $391,804) compared to other beachfront communities in the Sunshine State.

With a growing population of 1,605,848 in 2020, the city is home to a lively arts and music scene with plenty of restaurants, shops, entertainment and festivals, national and international sporting events (including the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp AA minor league baseball team), top-rated golf courses and tournaments (including the no.2 golf course in the state, THE PLAYERS Stadium Course), and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities, including fishing, boating, kayaking, cycling and hiking. The city is awash in year-round sunshine and all the amenities and extras you’d expect from the fourth-largest city in this popular state.

Looking for a weekend getaway? Jacksonville has an international airport (JAX) and is only a two-hour drive to Orlando and Savannah, and less than five hours by car to Atlanta and Miami.

Plus, as a resident of Florida, you’ll pay no state income tax.
