Division Chief, Pediatric Hospital Medicine

We are seeking an experienced physician leader for an exceptional professional opportunity to join Children’s Nebraska and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine as Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

Ranked #1 in Nebraska and recognized as a 2023-24 Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in Pediatric Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, Children’s Nebraska is a vibrant, freestanding pediatric teaching hospital. It’s also the state’s only full-service, pediatric specialty health care center focused on extraordinary clinical care, education, clinical and outcomes research, and advocacy.

The successful candidate will lead a truly collegial group of 36 pediatric hospital medicine faculty, support division members’ professional development, collaborate with faculty throughout the organization on academic and research projects, fulfill administrative duties, and share in clinical responsibilities. In addition, the Division Chief will represent Children’s Nebraska’s leadership in all University matters involving Pediatric Hospital Medicine and will be responsible for developing and implementing the division’s clinical, educational, research and advocacy goals and aligning those goals with the institution’s strategic plan.

The ideal candidate will be board certified with at least 10 years of experience in pediatric hospital medicine. Strong clinical and educational credentials and leadership experience is desired. We are looking for physicians with demonstrated administrative, academic, and clinical practice management experience within a complex pediatric tertiary care medical center. In this role, this leader will oversee, manage, grow and develop an already strong and stable team utilizing their emotional and social intelligence strengths to connect with others in a meaningful way at all levels of the organization, especially hospital and University leadership.

Children’s Nebraska offers a growing 225-bed free-standing children’s hospital with more than 250 specialist physicians, 50 specialty clinics and 14 satellite offices. This Magnet-certified medical center is home to Nebraska’s only Level IV regional NICU and the state’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, along with specialized clinical pediatric services and 24/7 pediatric intensivists.
