Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist to join the growing Division of Nephrology within the Department of Pediatrics at CHRISTUS Children’s, the first and only freestanding, academic, not-for-profit children’s hospital in San Antonio.

This is a unique opportunity to join a clinically strong, collaborative, and growing program—combining the history and clinical excellence of CHRISTUS Children’s (part of CHRISTUS Health with a history dating to 1866 and more than 600 centers across multiple states) with the academic strength of Baylor College of Medicine and an exceptional quality of life in one of Texas’ most charming and family-friendly cities.

Build and Shape the Program

  • Be part of the continued growth and development of a well-supported pediatric nephrology program within an expanding children’s hospital in a rapidly growing region of the state
  • Opportunity to contribute ideas and help shape program direction
  • Particularly attractive for physicians seeking collegial colleagues, mentorship, work-life balance and quality of life

Collaborative, Multidisciplinary Environment

  • Work with well-established pediatric subspecialty programs including:
    • Cardiology
    • Hematology/Oncology

    • Urology
    • PICU and Cardiac ICU
  • Highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams with strong alignment across specialties
  • You will be joining a growing program with strong institutional support

Direct Mentorship & Collaborative Team Environment

  • Close collaboration with experienced pediatric nephrology colleagues in a team-oriented setting where you are valued
  • A supportive environment that allows for meaningful interaction, shared care, and professional growth
  • The ability to contribute to and help shape a growing and evolving division

San Antonio – Exceptional Quality of Life

  • San Antonio is one of Texas’ most historic and charming metropolitan areas, blending Old West history, Spanish heritage and all the energy of a big city with the warm, welcoming feel of a small town.
  • A city consistently chosen for its charm, affordability, culture, and family-friendly environment
  • Lower housing prices (comparatively lower than other large Texas and U.S. cities) and easier commutes
  • Excellent schools, diverse communities, and a welcoming culture
  • No state income tax and a strong, stable economy
  • Sunny weather and mild winters with an annual average of more than 300 days of sunshine
  • A rich cultural and culinary scene
  • Close proximity to the Texas Hill Country, Austin, Houston and the Gulf Coast

Position Overview

Ideal candidates are clinically focused, collaborative pediatric nephrologists whose responsibilities will include:

  • Outpatient and inpatient pediatric nephrology care
  • Teaching residents, medical students and staff
  • Participation in quality, safety, and program development initiatives

You will be part of a mission-driven children’s hospital committed to high-quality, patient-centered care.
