Pediatric Search Partners has been engaged for the search for a Division Chief of Pediatric Critical Care to join University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. The Opportunity
Appointed by and reporting to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, the Division Chief will serve as the clinical, operational, and academic leader of Pediatric Critical Care medicine. This individual will define and advance the vision for the Division.
The Chief will lead and mentor a dedicated and collegial team of twelve pediatric intensivists, which includes a well-respected fellowship program with nine fellows, and ensure the continued delivery of exceptional care in the 20-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, which cares for approximately 1600 critically ill children each year and the 10-bed Pediatric Sedation Unit.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
- Demonstrated leadership skills with at least five years’ experience
- Excellent clinical skills as well as strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
- Academic accomplishments commensurate with appointment at the associate or full professor level with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead collaborative efforts with hospital and health system leadership to ensure the highest-quality care in a professional, cost-effective manner.
- Ensures collaborative integration of medical, trauma, and surgicalsubspecialty services in the Pediatric ICU.
- Oversee faculty development, including clinical training, mentorship, scholarly activity and the promotion process.
- Ensure that faculty are engaged in scholarly activity that includes clinical training and mentorship to residents, fellows and medical students.
- Assign clinical coverage and optimize workflow across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, professionalism and integrity.
- Represent and advocate for the Division within departmental and hospital leadership.
- Maintain oversight of clinical quality, operational administration, and financial performance.
- Serve as an advocate and representative of the Divisional faculty in leadership activities.
