Description

Ranked in Pediatric Urology and as the #2 children’s hospital in Tennessee by U.S. News & World Report in 2023-24, we are seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Pediatric Urologist to join the Division of Pediatric Urology at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, in partnership with The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).

In addition to the commitment to providing high-quality clinical care, we’re looking for candidates who enjoy teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. You’ll join a team of board-certified pediatric urologists, nurse practitioners, and dedicated urodynamics and nursing staff at the region’s only ACGME-accredited pediatric urology fellowship program.

The division offers a robotic surgery program, complete urodynamics capability with advanced diagnostic and imaging equipment, and the only comprehensive children's continence center in the Memphis area. In addition, the division partners with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to provide urologic care for patients from all over the world.

Candidates must have completed an accredited residency program in urology and be fellowship-trained in pediatric urology. Robotic experience is preferred but not required for consideration. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position, and faculty rank is commensurate with experience and credentials.

The position offers a highly competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.

About Memphis

With a rich historical heritage, Memphis is investing billions in its future and over the past decade has been creating a downtown revitalization that led Condé Nast Traveler to name it among one of only two U.S. locations in its global list of the 23 Best Places to Go in 2023. Although known as the “Home of the Blues,” Memphis is alive with all the sounds that shaped it—with world renowned jazz and blues, as well as options for the arts that include the symphony, opera, ballet, theater, and museums to enjoy.

One of the most historic cities of the South, Memphis is also a center of global transit with a burgeoning airport in the midst of a $214 million modernization, and the city offers scenic and revitalized neighborhoods bustling with retail, music, breweries and award-winning restaurants, along with outstanding institutions of higher education, and a thriving medical district. Although it is one of the largest metropolitan areas in Tennessee with a population of 1.3 million, the region’s small-town atmosphere makes it feel like a close-knit community making it attractive for families. And if you love being active outdoors, the vast Mississippi Riverfront provides countless outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, and boating, with a city-wide emphasis on annual music and food festivals.

The city also offers an exciting sports scene, including multiple colleges, an NBA team (Memphis Grizzlies), AAA baseball (Memphis Redbirds) and USL soccer (Memphis 901 FC). Plus, with a very low cost of living and no state income tax, Memphis is perfect for the whole family!
