Pediatric Surgery – Texas

We’re seeking two Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Surgeons to join the Division of Pediatric Surgery Baylor College of Medicine working at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, the first and only freestanding, academic, not-for-profit children’s hospital in San Antonio. Interest and/or experience in developing specialty programs is desirable, but not required for consideration.

Located in the nation’s seventh-largest city and Texas’ second largest city, San Antonio has a rapidly growing pediatric population that has expanded more than 18 percent since 2000. Ranked as the fastest growing U.S. city between 2021 and 2022, the pediatric population is expected to grow an additional 30 percent over the next 20 years offering an exceptional professional opportunity.

The Baylor Division of Pediatric Surgery is a primary clinical unit of function at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio with responsibilities to include caring for patients at the main campus in San Antonio and its community and satellite clinics. The successful candidate will join a team supported by strong mentorship and clinical collaboration from two seasoned pediatric surgeons as well as three skilled APP’s (with plans to add a fourth). APP’s take first call from the ED.

Ideal candidates are surgeons who are clinically focused on exceptional patient care and have an interest in academic medicine, including teaching residents and medical students. In addition, we are seeking individuals who are passionate about their specialty and enjoy building relationships internally and within the community. The positions are employed by Baylor College of Medicine and offer a highly competitive salary and excellent benefits package. Academic.
