We’ve been engaged to identify a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Rheumatologist to join the Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) team working at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) in the scenic Norfolk - Virginia Beach – Newport News area. This position offers the opportunity to provide inpatient and outpatient care for newborns through adulthood and includes a faculty appointment at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) as well as the opportunity for clinical research. There is the opportunity for partnership in this multispecialty group practice as well as a competitive starting compensation and benefits package that offers a 401k plan, profit sharing, health insurance and professional liability coverage.

About Children’s Specialty Group

CSG is a physician-owned group whose mission is to provide direct high-quality healthcare to children and adolescents, train future physicians, and conduct research to improve children’s health. The group treats patients from southeastern Virginia to northeastern North Carolina, an area comprised of about 450,000 children and adolescents. More than 180 Board Certified or Eligible physicians and 60 advanced practice providers are employed by CSG to care for patients throughout the region. CSG is the sole provider of medical specialty care at CHKD, which is the only freestanding children’s hospital in Virginia.

About the area

The Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News metropolitan area has a population of about 1.77 million people and includes 29 miles of Atlantic oceanfront, along with gorgeous white sands, an abundance of outdoor activities, the famous Virginia Beach Boardwalk, state parks and historic sites including the Cape Henry Lighthouse, one of the oldest in the United States. Summers and winters are relatively mild, especially compared with other East Coast destinations, but you’ll still enjoy the beauty of all four seasons. In the warmer months, boating, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and other water sports are among the favorite local pastimes. Families will love the top-ranked public schools, safe neighborhoods and reasonable cost of living. Shopping, dining, cultural destinations and events, and nightlife all make Virginia Beach a pleasant place to call home. The foothills of Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains are within a few hours’ drive; and both Carolina’s Outer Banks and Washington, D.C., are just two hours away.
