We've been engaged to identify a Board Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist for an exciting leadership opportunity joining Texas Children’s Hospital Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine.
As Service Director for Texas Children’s Woodlands Campus Anesthesiology Service, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop the service located at the second community pediatric hospital in the Texas Children’s system. The inpatient facility opened in April 2017 with 62 inpatient beds, including 14 PICU, 14 NICU, and 34 acute care beds. 7 daily anesthetizing locations are currently active, including 4 operating rooms, 2 MRI scanners, and a procedure suite. The successful Service Director will lead a high quality growing service, working collaboratively with surgical, medical, and hospital leadership to develop new programs and services. Academic rank is according to Baylor policy; and salary will be commensurate with academic rank and experience.

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine has 80 Pediatric Anesthesiology physician faculty members, and performs more than 45,000 anesthetics annually in more than 50 anesthetizing locations, representing all surgical subspecialties and non-operating room locations.

The successful candidate for the leadership position will have a minimum of 5 years’ post-fellowship experience as an attending pediatric anesthesiologist as well as leadership roles in clinical or quality programs. The director will spend at least 90 percent of their time at the Woodlands campus. Candidates must be ABA Board Certified in Pediatric Anesthesiology, and eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license and appointment to the full-time Baylor College of Medicine faculty.
