Description

We're seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologists to join the team at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Ochsner Hospital for Children is home to a rapidly growing team of more than 120 physicians, including pediatric subspecialists and a full spectrum of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty teams. The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults and offers a full range of pediatric services, including solid organ transplantation and pediatric cardiovascular surgery. Its current facilities include a 52-bed Level III-C NICU, a 26-bed PICU (14-bed PICU and 12-bed CVICU) and a 30-bed General Pediatric Unit as well as a free-standing ambulatory center for children housing primary care and subspecialists.

Located in one of the United States’ most culturally vibrant cities, this nonprofit, academic, multispecialty institution also has a combined pediatrics residency program with Tulane University Medical School. Medical students from Tulane and the University of Queensland/Ochsner Clinical School rotate through the division. Successful candidates will be eligible for an academic appointment commensurate with experience.

Ochsner received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Children, a distinction that recognizes exceptional children’s services ranked above the national average for patient safety; and it ranks among Healthgrades’ Distinguished Hospitals for Clinical Excellence, which places Ochsner in the top 5 percent of U.S. hospitals for clinical outcomes. Ochsner is Louisiana’s only ranked pediatric hospital, is ranked No. 1 in the New Orleans Metro area and No. 1 in the nation for liver transplants, a distinction the hospital has held for five consecutive years. This 75-year-old hospital serves more than 600,000 patients annually. The greater Ochsner Health Network is currently comprised of 2,500 primary care and specialty care physicians and is growing quickly to meet the needs of the region.

New Orleans is home to a one of the world’s most fascinating cultural melting pots. Eclectic and architecturally diverse neighborhoods, each with its own district personality; beautiful parks; incredible nightlife; world-class cuisine; and a year-round lineup of festivals – of which Mardi Gras undoubtedly commands the biggest audience – are among the draws of living here. A warm and friendly climate draws residents outdoors to stroll the city streets, take in the sights and enjoy New Orleans’ wealth of recreational opportunities. Hop on a streetcar, take in a concert or professional sports event, or soak up the history. New Orleans never leaves you wanting for something to do. On the weekends, head to the Gulf Shores of Alabama (a two-and-a-half-hour drive away) or the gorgeous white sands of Pensacola (just three hours away). A strong local economy, a relaxed vibe, good old Southern hospitality and excellent schools and a cost of living lower than other major U.S. cities all add to the outstanding quality of life this region affords.
