Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Opening – California
We’re seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to join the team at Valley Children’s Healthcare in Madera, California, including one of the nation’s largest free-standing children’s hospitals.
Situated in the center of one of California’s most stunning geographic areas, Valley Children’s Hospital offers an exciting opportunity to join the only specialized practice of its kind in Central California. The Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Valley Children’s performs nearly 2,500 orthopaedic procedures and sees nearly 30,000 outpatient cases annually. From infants to young adults, the team treats all aspects of children’s orthopaedic needs on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
At Valley Children’s main campus, you’ll love working at a stunning, state-of-the-art, 358-bed facility that sits on a 50-acre campus on the idyllic bluffs of the San Joaquin River, with the Sierra Nevada Mountains as your backdrop. A Magnet Nursing facility, Valley Children’s offers an exceptional support staff, a growing population to serve and an excellent compensation package.
Valley Children’s team of eight board-certified pediatric orthopaedic surgeons specialize in the treatment of conditions such as congenital deformities of the upper and lower extremities, spinal disorders, sports related injuries and neuromuscular diseases.
This team of experts has extensive experience in treating young athletes and was one of the first in the nation to implement an “urgent clinic” that allots additional time and resources to handle anticipated influxes in pediatrician referrals and unscheduled appointments. These include traumatic injuries from simple falls on the playground to major motor vehicle collisions. Based on experience, the practice developed the concept that they could predict – and therefore better prepare for – increases in patients who require immediate attention.
Responsibilities include clinical practice and active participation in the Stanford-affiliated pediatric resident training program with opportunities available to be involved in clinical research. Academic appointment will be recommended based on training and experience.
Situated near the center of the state, you’ll enjoy an exceptional quality of life. Residents have the unparalleled opportunity to live within one to three hours of the magnificent Pacific coast, the Sierra Nevada mountains and the San Francisco, San Jose and Los Angeles metropolitan areas. Sonoma and Napa counties and Lake Tahoe all are within a four-drive. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy living in the only city in the nation to have not just one, but three National Parks (Yosemite, King’s Canyon and Sequoia) right in your own backyard. Whether you prefer the snow, the sun or the sand, it’s all within your reach. And with so much varied geography, you’ll also find hiking and biking trails, kayaking, fishing, local wineries, farm stands and festivals, gourmet cuisine, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Another perk: The area is very affordable, and it boasts award-winning schools, making it the perfect choice for families.
